Freestyle Friday: The Christmas Edition

Welcome to the last Freestyle Friday post before Christmas 2013! Are you excited? My kids are stoked! Jack, of course, is old enough to know when Santa comes. Layne on the other hand has asked every night this month, “Is Santa coming tonight?”

There is something about Christmas with children that makes you want to be a better parent. It makes you want to do nice, fun things for your children like ignoring bedtime and writing their names with candy canes.

Seeing their little faces light up is almost, ALMOST, enough reason to ignore the little dots of “magic elf dust” that we’ll find around the house for the next six months.

Wow, I spend way too much time uploading photos on Friday mornings than I should. It eats up all of my writing time. I thought that, with all the cloud technology, I wouldn’t have to upload anything. Whatever I wanted would just be……there, in the cloud, waiting for me so that I could have it whenever I needed it. I need to put cloud technology on my list of things to learn next year.

I wanted to send a very special thank you to Chris and Scott for hosting the 17th or 18th annual Old School this year, and a very special thank you to Stephen and Melissa for the great party they hosted last Saturday. (Karly, the wontons….who are you?)  We had a great time at both parties, and I’m so excited that we’re within 365 days of getting to do it all over again!

Before I go, thank you Jim, thank you Ted, thank you Erica, thank you Earne, thank you Chris, thank you Abby, thank you Karly & Katie who – along with Leah – have read just about every word that I’ve written in the last 10 years, and thank you to everyone who has read one post or every post I’ve written the last five months. I’d go on this journey without you, but it’s a lot more fun to have you with me. That includes you, Todd.

Merry Christmas! Go be kind.
